The Primary aged (3-6year olds) children of Nia House will share art, stories, and reflections on the theme of “Elders.”

  • What does it mean to be an elder?

  • Who are the elders in our life?

Who is an “elder” at Nia House?

“Elder” is familiar word at Nia House. The oldest children in Nia House’s classrooms are called “elders.”

Trusted children, endearingly called “elders,” are the ones teachers can depend on to help the youngest in our community. Elders help their classmates find their name, put on their shoes, or open a tricky lunchbox container. Elders also model the behavior we hope to see in a classroom- walking inside, quieter voices, and respecting classroom materials.

In essence, elders set the tone for care of self, care of others, and care of the environment in our Nia House community and beyond.

MORE ART AND PHOTOGRAPHS WILL BE POSTED FOR YOU TO ENJOY AFTER 11/22. COME BACK!
